Hot Springs

Off

Just a one hour drive from Little Rock, Hot Springs is an easy day trip. It has something for everyone, from art galleries to amusement parks. Nearby Lake Ouachita is the largest lake within the borders of the state, with nearly 700 miles of shoreline. There is a state park there, and boat rental is available. Oaklawn Park has live thoroughbred horse racing from January through April, and gaming throughout the year. Magic Springs is an amusement park that contains Crystal Falls, a water park for all kinds of fun in the summer. The natural hot springs that gave the town its name are preserved within Hot Springs National Park. Visitors can hike the trails in the Ouachita Mountains, and visit Bathhouse Row, where visitors came in search of healing waters starting in the 1800’s, hitting its peak with the construction of eight elegant bathhouses between the years of 1892 and 1923.
