Buffalo National River
The Buffalo National River was the first river to be designated as such in 1972. As a National Scenic River, it is protected from damming and industrial uses, and remains in its natural state. The stunning bluffs that frame the free-flowing river can be seen from above on some awesome hiking trails, or from below from the seat of your canoe, kayak, or raft.
