Blanchard Springs Cave
Blanchard Springs Caverns is located near Mountain View, Arkansas, about a 2.5 hour drive from Little Rock in the Ozark–St. Francis National Forest. It is an awesome cave system formed in the limestone by an underground stream that emerges nearby in a picturesque waterfall. Guided tours are available: The Dripstone Trail is accessible to wheelchairs and strollers, with paved paths and handrails. It covers 0.5 miles in the cave, which stays at a constant 58° F year-round. The Discovery Trail is more strenuous, covering 1.2 miles, and is only offered from June through August. The Wild Cave tour, the newest option, takes adventurous souls off-trail into undeveloped sections of the cave. Make reservations ahead of time!
